So we all know that you can connect to pretty much any audience you can think of when it comes to social business. Single Mums with a proclivity for abseiling, head chefs looking to try the newest insect based cuisine, whoever your ideal client is, they’re out there right now waiting.

They are living their lives, hanging out with family, looking up the next cliff to abseil from, working on their careers. What they are not waiting for is for you to sweep them off their feet with your perfect product or service. Not yet anyway…

You see, that’s the problem with most marketers or traditional salespeople today. Rather than give people a snippet of their best work, for free, to really help their prospective client (when they want it, at their own leisure, to allow them to decide the next step in their relationship with the marketer), they shove themselves in front of what would otherwise be a person trying to catch up on social media during their lunch break. How is that ever going to make a sale?

The trick, is that you have to treat approaching people on social media, or even the web at large, as you would to an attractive person at a party you’d like to dance with. You don’t just go up to someone and ask them to dance, what is a stranger going to say? No!

Thankfully, just like chatting to someone at that dance, approaching people online doesn’t have to be daunting or misled. You can provide insight and value to people you’ve never met, so when they’re ready and when you’re ready, you can carve it out on the dance floor.

Here is insight from Tony Vidler of Strictly Business, a New Zealand based Financial Adviser Business Coach. Learn about the steps that you need to take your ideal dance partner through to make it to the dance floor!
